F is for father

My father was very special. He took part in our lifes in a way that is common nowerdays but wasn’t then in the 40ties and 50ties. Although he wanted a son, he was very very proud of us girls. His “favourite” was the youngest one but I knew he loved me just as much. I was the boyish one. Played football, ishockey, basket … My father always watched my matches and was a great supporter.
He was very interested in technical things and a kind of genious. My son and his cousin have the same skill. His last years he travelled around to us to be with his grandchildren. He died in brain tumur far too early. I felt it was very unfair.
Pappa yngst och minst här kanske 1912.
My father is in the middle. I think it is 1911 or 1912. He had six brothers and one sister who died young.

My father and mother before they were married. My grandfather was the first one to buy a car in the area. My father had always been interested in cars and he also had a Harley.
Pappas Ford V8 - och favorit - naturligtvis!
The car we had when I was a little girl - a Ford V8. It took us to Norway, Denmark and Germany.
My father was very special and I loved him dearly. Everyone did.

Your parents always go too soon. My father was 73 when he died a decade ago.

It's weird to think of my parents' lives before I was born.

Nice pictures and story.

Nice to hold on to fond memories of your Father and a very good choice for the F Challenge too.

Fond memories of your Father are a Fantastic thing to have. A Fine tribute. My father was more the typical bread winner who played Santa Claus with his children.

En fin hyllning till en far! Utmärkt ordval för F-vecka. (Att jag inte kom på det själv!)
Varma hälsningar,
