My World

My World

Oh! … I almost forgot … I was so occupied with my new webpage on wordpress about graffiti & scribble. Do you use the word “scribble” to emphasize it is not at all any kind of art – only vandalism?

This is ART …

… and this is scribble …. or how do you express it in English?

I am also busy with my granddaughter for some days now.

Hi Birgitta. I am trying to think what word we use to distinguish between the two kinds of street art. I usually think of graffiti as vandalism (because what I usually see is like the second example). I agree the first picture is art. I'm not sure we have the right word; I hope someone else can come up with it. I would just say 'street art' for the good kind. Scribble to me means something you write quickly (a note, the grocery list, something like that). I'm off to look at your new website now.

Hooray for Grandmother time!!! That's the best.

Graffiti is anti-art.

Graffiti is vandalism, an insult to one's fellow citizens.
